Hvorfor har min havfrue vinger?

I boken ”The Mermaid Chair” av Sue Monk Kidd, står det:

”The thinking around here is that she’s part siren. Sirens have fish tails and wings.” .......”But I thought the sirens were terrible creatures.”

“You’re probably thinking of the Odyssey, how they lured the sailors onto rocks, but before that they were sex-goddesses. They brought messages from the deep. Kind of like angels, but they didn’t come down from heaven, they came up from the sea. Supposedly their messages would inspire or heal – so sirens weren’t always bad”

.......”He told me he liked the idea of them having both wings and fish-tails, because it meant they could carry on in two completely different worlds. That they belonged equally to the sky and sea, and he envied that.”

Min vakre havfrue er spesialdesignet av Charlotte Solvær. Jeg er så heldig å være tante til denne kunstutdannede, utrolige unge damen. Hun har fanget sjelen og personligheten til akkurat min havfrue så perfekt at jeg ble helt rørt. Takk igjen, kjære fine Charlotte!
